Support the Performance

Our dancers shine brightest when parents get involved. Discover how you can share your time and talents to support Grissom High School Dance.
Parent Board
-
Our Parent Booster Club plays an important role in supporting the Grissom Dance program and helping our students succeed. Parents provide valuable support through volunteering, fundraising, assisting with performances and events, and helping create opportunities for our dancers. Most importantly, having parents involved helps build a strong sense of community and shows our students that their families believe in and support their passion for dance. Whether you have a lot of time to give or can simply help when needed, every parent’s involvement makes a difference. We encourage all Grissom Dance parents to join our Booster Club and be a part of supporting our dancers and program!
Costume and Prop Donations
-
Our Grissom Dance family is always grateful for the support of our school and community! We welcome donations of gently used dance costumes, props, and accessories that can be used in our classes and performances. Your donations help us create memorable experiences for our dancers while giving them the opportunity to be creative, expressive, and confident on stage. If you have costumes or props that are no longer being used, consider giving them a new life with Grissom Dance! Every donation, big or small, makes a difference and helps our program continue to grow.

Frequently
Asked
Questions
What is the mandatory attendance policy for the technical rehearsals?
+
Dancers are expected to attend all scheduled technical rehearsals. Excused absences require students to fill out the Conflict forms that are on their Canvas under Modules. A written notice or email from a parent or guardian may be given to the program director in emergency cases or sudden illness. Unexcused absences may impact performances and final grades.
Where can parents access the latest schedules and call times?
+
The master performance schedule and dancer call times are available on your student's syllabus and will be emailed. Call times are strictly enforced, usually requiring dancers to arrive two hours prior to showtime.
Will my student be required to return all costumes directly after the final performance?
+
Yes, students will need to return costumes the Monday after the performance. Costumes MUST be hand-washed and returned in the condition they were given. Students will have numbered costumes that will be tracked and students will be charged a fee for not returning them on time or for significant damage.Â
Does my student's performance affect their final class grade?
+
Yes, on your student's syllabus the final grade is based on 60% your student's performance in the final shows. The other 40% is class participation, so it is imperative that students show up on a daily basis.
